Looking through photos of a road trip I took last summer from Los Angeles to Glacier National Park and realized that this is probably the best photo that will ever be taken of me.
On the way from Zion to Missoula, we stayed a night in Arco, Idaho specifically because it was near Craters of the Moon National Monument. Upon entering, my iPod shuffled to Earth’s “Old Black,” which made us decide to listen to the entirety of their Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light I album as we drove around, looking at the impressive, desolate, and unearthly landscape. This picture was taken in one of the caves, and it will never not remind me of Earth’s “Old Black,” and vice versa. I’m convinced there’s no better soundtrack for that place.
